Position Summary
The Extraction Prep Technician is responsible for safely preparing cannabis raw materials for hydrocarbon extraction processes. This role focuses on biomass handling, material staging, inventory tracking, and production support while following strict SOPs, safety procedures, and state compliance regulations in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Prepare, weigh, stage, and organize cannabis biomass for extraction ● Monitor biomass preparation quality, and material consistency
● Maintain and inspect sock packing station/tools for cleanliness to prevent contamination ● Verify and document incoming deliveries and material weights
● Fork lift training and pallet jack experience required
● Pushing, rolling carts and totes weighing up to 750 lbs
● Fill LCO2 dewar stations following compressed gas safety procedures. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
● Assist extraction technicians with material transfers and workflow support ● Clean and maintain freezers, prep areas, and material handling equipment ● Maintain accurate inventory and production documentation
● Follow all SOPs, PPE requirements, and safety protocols related to hazardous materials and compressed gases
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
Qualifications & Skills
● Experience in cannabis processing, manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments preferred
● Forklift experience or certification is a plus
● Ability to follow SOPs, safety procedures, and compliance requirements ● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment ● Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods
Work Environment
● Licensed cannabis extraction and processing facility
● Exposure to cannabis materials, dry ice, compressed gases, loud equipment, and varying temperatures
● PPE and strict safety compliance required at all times
