McCracken County Road Department is now accepting applications for a Laborer. Starting pay with CDL is $28.55.
Summary:
This is routine manual work requiring physical endurance and a willingness to perform unskilled tasks. Work is performed under the immediate supervision in accordance with well established procedures. Performs related work as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with road maintenance including work with concrete and asphalt, culvert maintenance and repair, patching, resurfacing, grading of roads and snow removal.
Installation and maintenance of traffic signs and markings.
Flags at maintenance and construction sites.
Operates various types of mechanized equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, etc.
Assists in the removal of snow and ice which may include the operation of trucks and/or other snow removal equipment, as assigned.
Performs a variety of related activities as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Preferred one year of related experience and/or training in operating heavy equipment and prior road work experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current valid Kentucky State Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s license is required. CDL preferred or must be obtained within one year of appointment to the position.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
