OSI Optoelectronics is seeking a Materials Expeditor to join the team. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of materials, parts, and work-in-process while setting and adjusting production schedules to maximize shipping output and revenue while maintaining on-time delivery in an optoelectronics manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Move raw materials, components, kits, subassemblies, and finished or partially finished product to and from the production floor in alignment with production planner priorities and line requirements.

Act as a liaison between the production floor and operations by communicating material needs, shortages, schedule risks, and priority changes.

Maintain the production status of scheduled assemblies by tracking material availability, work order progress, shortages, and completion status.

Review material constraints, shortages, and open issues with Production Planning and Purchasing to support timely replenishment and schedule execution.

Facilitate the timely flow of materials between stockroom, receiving, inspection, production, and other departments to minimize downtime and support schedule attainment.

Ensure materials issued to production are accurate and properly documented, support staging and prioritization for scheduled and urgent builds, and maintain timely, accurate records of shortages, status updates, and related tracking activities.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.

1+ years of experience in expediting, production control, materials coordination, or related field required.

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Knowledge of ERP systems and automated scheduling programs desired.

Ability to read and understand specification documents, work orders, assembly travelers, and related production documentation required.

Must be able to calculate simple math including Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments required.

Ability to use electronic scale for weight counting, reel counter, hand truck, material carts, and pallet jack.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Non telecommuting position; must have a physical presence in the production area on a daily and ongoing basis.

Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the business language (English).

Pay may range from $25.00 to $26.00 hourly
The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
