Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our growing team! Our company specializes in luxury custom homes and offers a positive and upbeat work environment. This position requires a passionate and effective individual who can multi-task, meet deadlines and enjoys details. They will manage purchasing and cost control systems as well as play an important role in vendor negotiations. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, very detail oriented and able to excel in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cost database, budgets and price lists in company’s proprietary software
- Solicit and evaluate quotes and contracts with subcontractors and vendors
- Maintain a complete and strong vendor list balancing cost and quality
- Perform material takeoffs and complete budget for each home before construction begins
- Cultivate and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Maintain vendor scopes of work
- Negotiate model home discounts
- Assist in maintaining design studio samples and pricing
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years experience in residential construction estimating/purchasing
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Design software experience such as Revit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, etc. is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
8:00 - 5:00 M-F
40 hours per week
