THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position oversees the creation, organization, and maintenance of inmate medical records while supporting staff and ensuring compliance with standards. As a Medical Records Supervisor - SCI Greene, you will perform the following duties:
- Staff Supervision: Manage work assignments, train staff, and support completion of daily responsibilities
- Record Maintenance: Organize and monitor integrated health records while ensuring compliance with documentation standards
- Record Handling: File, withdraw, issue, and transfer medical records following confidentiality rules and legal requirements
- Record Review: Examine records for completeness and accuracy and refer issues to appropriate medical personnel
- Statistical Reporting: Prepare reports related to morbidity, mortality, service use, and record reviews
- Quality Assurance: Evaluate recordkeeping methods and participate in quality improvement discussions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,827.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a valid Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certificate or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certificate issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or eligibility for certification including completion of an AHIMA approved RHIT or RHIA Health Information Management education program.
Post Employment Requirement:
- Employees who meet the Necessary Special Requirement based on the eligibility option for the RHIT or RHIA certification must obtain one of these certifications within 12 months of employment.
