Join our dynamic mental health team as a Licensed Therapist/Counselor, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive psychological support and therapeutic services to diverse populations here in Sugarland TX. Duties
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 coding systems to accurately document patient conditions
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, DBT, and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively and ensure safety for clients and staff
- Provide specialized counseling for populations including children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, geriatrics, and patients with PTSD or chronic pain conditions
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical terminology appropriately for accurate case management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on patient care plans, case management initiatives, and clinical research projects to optimize treatment outcomes
- Utilize telehealth platforms to extend access to mental health services remotely while ensuring data collection and confidentiality standards are upheld
Experience
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, or social work within outpatient or inpatient settings
- Demonstrated expertise in working with children, adolescents, adults with disabilities, or geriatric populations
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques and behavior management strategies across diverse client groups
- Hands-on experience with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation practices
- Knowledge of addiction counseling methods and grief counseling approaches for supporting patients through loss or trauma
- Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms with a strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards
- Background in working within behavioral health environments that involve special education or pediatric care is highly desirable
