Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician / Automation Technician to support highly automated manufacturing equipment within a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
Candidates should be comfortable diagnosing equipment faults, identifying root causes, making adjustments or repairs, and working directly with engineering and maintenance teams to keep automated production lines operational.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and support automated manufacturing and assembly equipment in a high-volume production environment.
- Diagnose PLC-controlled equipment faults, including I/O issues, sensors, interlocks, communications, alarms, and machine sequencing problems.
- Use PLC software, HMIs, electrical prints, and diagnostic tools to identify the cause of machine faults.
- Troubleshoot and support industrial robotic equipment, including fault recovery, sensors, interlocks, tooling, and robot-related production issues.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting on control panels, wiring, sensors, switches, relays, motors, drives, and other industrial automation components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical systems used within automated production lines.
- Support automated equipment involving conveyors, fixtures, actuators, pneumatics, servo systems, vision systems, and robotic cells.

- Perform equipment testing, startup support, validation, and production-readiness activities.
- Work directly with engineering, maintenance, and production personnel to identify recurring equipment problems and implement corrective actions.
- Document troubleshooting activities, equipment modifications, and completed repairs.
- Perform minor welding or fabrication when necessary; welding is a secondary function of the position.
