An established commercial printing and manufacturing company seeking an experienced part-time bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day accounting and financial records.
Because we manufacture customized printed products, our accounting needs are more complex than those of a traditional retail, restaurant, or service business. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a manufacturing, printing, distribution, construction, or other job-based business where materials, labor, inventory, work in progress, and cost of goods sold must be accurately tracked.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Record customer payments, vendor bills, deposits, and expenses
- Monitor outstanding customer balances and assist with collections
- Track inventory, raw materials, outside services, and cost of goods sold
- Review transactions for accuracy and proper account classification
- Prepare regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
- Assist with sales tax reporting, payroll entries, and month-end closing
- Coordinate with management, our CPA, vendors, and other team members as needed
- Identify discrepancies and help improve bookkeeping procedures and internal controls
Qualifications
- Prior professional bookkeeping experience required
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks required
- Experience with a manufacturing, printing, distribution, construction, or job-costing business strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and follow through on outstanding items
- Comfortable reviewing financial information and bringing discrepancies to management’s attention
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
