Position Summary
EP Logistics is seeking a Customs Brokerage Manager to oversee and manage daily brokerage operations, ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. This role requires strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of customs processes, and experience with Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and looking for a long-term opportunity within a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily customs brokerage operations, including entry processing and compliance activities
- Ensure all entries are accurate, timely, and compliant with CBP regulations and other government agencies
- Manage and support brokerage staff, including training, performance monitoring, and workflow coordination
- Review and approve customs documentation, classifications, and duty calculations
- Maintain compliance with FTZ regulations, including inventory control and reporting requirements
- Serve as the main point of contact for CBP, clients, and internal teams regarding brokerage matters
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure procedures are updated accordingly
- Conduct internal audits and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Coordinate with warehouse, transportation, and operations teams to ensure efficient cargo movement
- Resolve complex entry issues, discrepancies, and client inquiries in a timely manner
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and provide high-level customer service
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (required)
- Proven experience in customs brokerage operations
- FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone) experience required
- Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, and import/export processes
- Experience in a supervisory or management role preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in brokerage software systems and Microsoft Office
