Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Data Technician / Low-Voltage Cable Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on position installing, routing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting Cat 5e/Cat 6 network cabling at commercial and residential job sites.
The ideal candidate has experience with Cat 6 cable installation, is comfortable pulling and fishing cable through walls and ceilings, working on ladders, and navigating attics, crawl spaces, and other tight spaces.
Previous low-voltage/data cabling experience is strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right motivated candidate with construction, electrical, telecommunications, or similar experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Pull and route Cat 5e/Cat 6 Ethernet and low-voltage cable
- Terminate Cat 6 cable with RJ45 connectors, keystone jacks, and patch panels
- Fish and snake cable through walls, ceilings, floors, and other pathways
- Install data jacks, wall plates, patch panels, and related equipment
- Work in attics, crawl spaces, above ceilings, and other confined areas
- Work from ladders and lifts when necessary
- Drill and create cable pathways as needed
- Measure, cut, label, and organize cable runs
- Test and troubleshoot network cabling
- Identify and correct installation issues
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Follow proper cable-management and installation practices
- Work professionally around customers and other contractors
- Follow all company safety procedures
Qualifications
Required
- Reliable and dependable
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable driving record
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout Plymouth and Cape Cod
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
- Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and tight areas
- Ability to lift and carry cable, tools, ladders, and equipment
- Ability to work with hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Preferred
- Previous Cat 5e/Cat 6 installation experience
- Low-voltage/data cabling experience
- Experience terminating RJ45 connectors
- Experience installing keystone jacks and patch panels
- Experience using cable testers
- Telecommunications experience
- Electrical or construction experience
- OSHA or other safety training
What We’re Looking For
This is a hands-on field position, not a desk job.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable pulling cable, fishing wires through walls, drilling, climbing ladders, working above ceilings, and getting into the spaces necessary to properly complete an installation.
A strong candidate should take pride in clean, professional installations and be able to work both independently and as part of a crew.
Work Area
Our primary work area is Plymouth, MA, with job sites throughout Cape Cod.
Employees should be comfortable traveling to different job sites throughout the area.

A company vehicle is provided for work-related travel, and company fuel is provided.
Compensation & Benefits

Schedule
Full-time position. Work will take place at various job sites throughout Plymouth and Cape Cod, with scheduling based on project requirements.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
