The TownePlace Suites by Marriott is looking for an Immediate and experienced Front Desk/Guest Service Agent for both AM and PM Shifts. The Front Desk/Guest Services Agent must perform in a pleasant, professional and efficient manner, while fulfilling a combination of duties mainly related, but not limited to, check-in and check-out of guests and attending to guests’ customer service needs which creates an overall positive experience for all guests. This position will require 2 weeks of consecutive training 7am-3pm. Shift is normally 3pm-11pm mostly Mon-Fri with occasional weekends.

Job Responsibilities:
- Take the initiative to greet guests immediately in a friendly and warm manner
- Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming relevant information
- Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests and shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions
- Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear communication. Input messages into the computer. Retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guest. Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested
- Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts. May make, confirm and cancel reservations for guests
- Verify credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash, make change and balance an assigned house bank. Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer
- Understand and enforce the hotel company credit policies. Account for all cash and makes deposits in accordance with hotel and company policies
- Close guest accounts at time of check out and ascertain satisfaction. In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise, which may include authorizing revenue allowances
- Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger
- Ability to stand and move throughout front office and continuously perform essential job functions
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
- Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
