Overview
Bright Minds Early Childhood is seeking a passionate, experienced, and nurturing Lead Teacher to join our growing preschool program serving children ages 3–5. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment while fostering children's academic, social-emotional, and creative growth. This position also offers leadership opportunities, including serving as Acting Director in the Director's absence.itted to fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere where both children and educators thrive.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and developmental milestones.
- Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and emotional regulation among preschoolers.
- Collaborate with families to support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and Montessori methods into daily activities to enhance holistic development.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides to ensure high-quality instruction and smooth classroom operations.
- Maintain detailed records of children's development, attendance, and curriculum activities in compliance with childcare regulations.
- Collaborate with other staff members to support program goals.-
- Serve as Acting Director when assigned and assist with daily program operations.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or private school setting is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across various domains such as literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Experience managing classrooms effectively through strong classroom management skills and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, including toddler care and early intervention strategies for children with special needs.
- Familiarity with teaching methods such as Montessori or other child-centered approaches is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Background in early childhood education certifications or credentials aligned with state licensing requirements is preferred. Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field of study and valid certification issued by the State Education Department or A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field of study and two years of experience in a preschool program.
- Experience serving as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, Educational Director, or Program Supervisor.
- Ability to oversee daily operations and serve as Acting Director in the Director’s absence.
- Experience communicating with families, staff, and licensing representatives.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 per week
