ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Operates manual and/or robotic weld equipment.

Produces assemblies of metal work pieces to quality and efficiency standards, including repetitive lifting and placing metal work pieces and sheets into fixtures.

Measures dimensions of work pieces to ensure conformance using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, templates, etc.

Knowledge regarding physical properties and welding characteristics of metal, effects of heat, welding shrinkage, welding techniques and allowance for thickness.

Reads prints to determine specifications and accurately complete all required functions.

Safely completes finishing functions such as grinding, sanding, etc.

Modifies computer-controlled robot movements.

Develops robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.

Performs operator maintenance per established schedules.

Performs preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components.

Effectively prevent and troubleshoot robot cell stoppages.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3-5 years of TIG and MIG welding experience.

Requires knowledge of physical properties and welding characteristics of metal, effects of heat, welding shrinkage, welding techniques and allowance for thickness.

Ability to read and understand welding procedures and procedure qualifying record (PQR's) for each procedure.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Multi-tasking with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Requires thorough knowledge of ABB IRC5 Robotic Controller and Fonius weld system.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift 25lbs, up to 50lbs with or without accommodations.
The functions of this position cannot be safely performed by anyone with a pacemaker.
