Resident Assistant (CNA / NA)

Position Summary
Willow Ridge Senior Living is a locally owned senior living provider dedicated to delivering high-quality care in a warm, respectful environment. We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Resident Assistant to support the daily needs of our residents. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, dignified, and supportive community for residents and team members alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold and promote the philosophy of Assisted Living
- Follow all applicable state regulations and community policies
- Receive and provide shift-to-shift reports
- Review communication logs and shower schedules at the start of each shift
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and transferring
- Assist with resident meals and hydration
- Take and record vital signs; assist with first aid and wound care as permitted
- Communicate effectively with outside healthcare professionals
- Practice proper infection control and universal precautions
- Observe and promptly report changes in resident physical or mental condition
- Document and report accidents and incidents
- Conduct resident rounds and verify resident locations
- Assist residents with room organization, bed linens, laundry, and light housekeeping as needed
- Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs
- Respond to call lights, door alarms, and emergencies as required
- Ensure residents at risk for wandering are secure and wearing wander bracelets
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, team members, and visitors
- Wear name badge and carry a working walkie-talkie during shifts
- Assist with training and orientation of new team members
- Review service plans and complete level-of-care change documentation when needed
- Attend and complete all required training in compliance with DSS regulations
- Maintain confidentiality and respect resident rights and privacy
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Job Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Nurse Aide (NA), or other state-approved certification required
- Must meet all state licensing and regulatory requirements
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful toward elderly and disabled individuals
- Professional appearance and grooming standards required
- Acceptable criminal background check
- Documented TB screening
- CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
- Reliable attendance and schedule adherence
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and organized with good time-management skills
- Willingness to perform all aspects of resident care, including unpleasant tasks, with professionalism and dignity
- Ability and willingness to learn and grow within the role
- Must be capable of performing job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
