Duties
- Assist patients and residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using tools like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track health status accurately.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health management.
- Maintain a safe environment by following aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care and phlebotomy when applicable.
- Document patient information meticulously, adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect confidentiality and ensure accurate medical records.
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification or equivalent licensure preferred; experience as a caregiver preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations such as seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or behavioral health needs.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS)
- Experience in various healthcare environments including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting patients using Hoyer lifts and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care.
