The Installation and Service Technician Smart Business III is responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of all low voltage systems for our new and existing customer base. These services are critical for the ongoing customer service experience and satisfaction of our members. As our first full-time security presence in Helena, MT, this role will also be responsible for building and maintaining local relationships. This position will work directly with project management and coordination to complete tasks.
System Installation: Install and program security, fire, access, and CCTV systems in commercial properties with no assistance. Lead fire alarm install jobs up to and including final inspection and close out.
Coordination: Responsible for ensuring coordination of final inspection and all other stakeholders as it is being handled by the coordination department. Responsible for installing or adding basic electrical outlets when required.
Project Oversight: Read and understand blueprints and schematics with the ability to create as-builds and delegate tasks. Maintain communication with the project manager and coordinate in real time in order to address scheduling or other job-related issues.
Customer Relations: Communicate with customers in full regarding the current job and any changes or issues. Maintain relationships with major accounts and multi-location accounts to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Technical Maintenance: Perform fire alarm inspections, identifying deficiencies and upgrade opportunities. Perform repairs, maintenance, and upgrades for fire alarms, security alarms, CCTV, and access systems.
Administrative: Ensure all delegates assigned to a job or ticket have clocked time correctly and all job costs have been applied. Create reports for customer and agency documentation and submittal.
Leadership & Support: Support service advisors, key account coordinators, and customer support representatives. Assist with training and development of technicians and assist the sales team with site walks.
Compliance: Maintain relationships with municipal and state fire authorities for licensing and inspections. Interface with monitoring center management. Must stay in compliance with company training, policies, and procedures.
