Job Overview
Join our team as a part-time therapist to take over for one our senior therapists as she gradually decreases her hours. The position focuses on one on one manual care and treating the whole person, not just the tissue. Work flow would be about 3 an hour on land with no doubles and a dedicated tech assigned to you at the beginning of your day who will also be expected to be one on one with your patient until they get into the water and begin their aquatic interventions with a tech in the water. Opportunities to get into the water and work with your patient one on one are also available.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate physical function, mobility limitations, and pain levels using advanced physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate physiotherapy techniques such as soft tissue manipulation, Focus on core and posture, orthopedics strategies, and exercises tailored to patient needs.
- Deliver hands-on therapy sessions in the morning at the local community pools with compensation for notes typed at home in the afternoon.
- Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and self-care strategies to promote long-term health benefits.
- Coordinate care and progress of patient within their Plan of care
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems efficiently to document treatment progress, update care plans, and maintain accurate medical terminology records.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in physiotherapy practices.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist with relevant regulatory bodies.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and orthopedic principles essential for effective treatment planning.
- Demonstrated expertise in discharge planning, patient care management, and working with diverse populations including geriatrics and post-ops.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and treatment tracking.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients effectively.
- Be able to appropriately manage time and be able to give clear instructions to patient and supportive staff.
