Chroma Early Learning is seeking a knowledgeable, organized, and employee-focused Benefits Manager to oversee the company’s employee benefits programs and serve as a resource for employees and management. This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day benefits administration, coordinating with insurance and benefits providers, supporting open enrollment, and ensuring benefits information is accurate and up to date.
The ideal candidate will have experience in benefits administration, human resources, insurance, or a related field. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits questions and concerns.
Administer health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other company-sponsored benefits.
Coordinate new hire benefits enrollment and ensure employees receive accurate information regarding available benefits.
Manage employee benefit changes related to qualifying life events, status changes, and terminations.
Coordinate and assist with annual open enrollment, including employee communications, enrollment materials, and system updates.
Work closely with insurance carriers, brokers, and benefits providers to resolve issues and ensure accurate coverage.
Maintain accurate employee benefits records and ensure enrollment information is up to date.
Review benefits invoices and assist with reconciling enrollment and billing discrepancies.
Track eligibility requirements, enrollment deadlines, and benefits-related documentation.
Assist employees with understanding their benefits, coverage, eligibility, and enrollment options.
Maintain confidential employee information and benefits records.
Ensure benefits administration follows applicable company policies and regulatory requirements.
Assist with audits, reporting, and required benefits documentation.
Partner with payroll and HR to ensure accurate benefits deductions and employee records.
Identify opportunities to improve benefits processes and employee communication.
Assist with other HR and administrative duties and special projects as needed.
Previous experience in benefits administration, human resources, insurance, payroll, or a related field preferred.
No specific degree required.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and customer-service skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
Comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, email, and other computer systems.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
Ability to learn benefits systems, policies, and procedures.
HR or childcare industry experience is a plus, but not required.
Willingness to learn and receive training on company-specific benefits programs and processes.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, approachable, and organized, with a strong understanding of the importance of employee benefits. They should be comfortable communicating with employees, insurance providers, and internal leadership while ensuring benefits are administered accurately and efficiently.
