Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive curriculum tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating foundational techniques and creative expression in Hip Hop dance.
- Lead energetic and motivating dance classes that promote proper technique, rhythm, coordination, and stage presence.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively by implementing behavior management strategies and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with diverse needs, including children, adults, and those requiring special education considerations.
- Incorporate elements of theater, choreography, and musicality to enhance students’ performance skills and confidence.
- Use photography or video recording tools to capture performances or progress for student portfolios or promotional purposes.
- Collaborate with other instructors or program coordinators to plan special events, performances, or workshops that showcase student talent.
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching dance, particularly Hip Hop style, with a strong understanding of choreography and movement techniques.
- Background in curriculum development for dance classes or related arts education programs.
- Classroom management skills that foster discipline while encouraging creativity and self-expression.
- Experience working with children, teenagers, or adult learners in educational or community settings.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles or preschool experience is a plus for younger participants.
- Familiarity with ballet or theater arts can enhance instructional versatility; culinary or sewing experience is beneficial for interdisciplinary projects but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate music selection, movement exercises, and performance preparation.
