Experienced Weekend Caregiver – Santa Barbara, CA (Part-Time)
Part-Time Weekend Position | Opportunity for Additional Hours
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate caregiver to provide one-on-one support for an adult living with dementia and BPD.
This position is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, patient, dependable, and experienced working with individuals who have cognitive impairment and behavioral health challenges. Must be comfortable setting clear boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and supervision
- Drive to appointments, errands, and community activities
- Assist with daily organization and routines
- Help with computer tasks and iPhone use
- Promote safety, independence, and dignity
- Communicate professionally with family members regarding care
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional caregiving experience
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
- Experience supporting clients with dementia and BPD (or comparable behavioral health experience)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable vehicle and proof of insurance
- Comfortable using computers and iPhone
- Able to pass a background check
- Outstanding references required
Preferred
- CNA, Home Health Aide, Medical Assistant, Social Work, Psychology, or related healthcare experience
- CPR/First Aid certification
Schedule
- Weekend hours (Saturday and Sunday)
- Additional weekday hours may become available for the right candidate
Pay
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
This position is best suited for someone who is patient, emotionally steady, and skilled at maintaining a calm, supportive environment.
