We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive dental hygiene examinations, including assessment of oral health status, vital signs, and medical history review.
- Perform professional cleanings such as scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to prevent cavities and gum disease.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging systems Dexis.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing techniques, and dietary advice for optimal dental health.
- Document patient interactions accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to develop personalized treatment plans and follow-up care instructions.
- Monitor patient vital signs before procedures to ensure safety during treatments.
- Maintain sterilization protocols and manage inventory of dental supplies efficiently.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office environment.
- Familiarity with Dentrix for medical documentation and records management.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures across general dentistry specialties including prosthodontics, orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral surgery.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively about oral health practices.
- Prior experience working with dental reception staff or assisting in administrative tasks is advantageous.
