We are seeking a dynamic and experienced PT Co-Lead Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team! As the PT Lead RDA, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth clinical operations, delivering exceptional patient care, and supporting the dental team with leadership and expertise. Days and Hours Tuesdays 8:30am to 3pm, Thursdays 12:30pm-7pm, Saturdays 8:30am to 3pm and 1 ortho Friday a monrh 10am-5pm. 25-30hrs per week.
Duties
- Lead and supervise dental assisting activities, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Assist with chairside procedures across a broad range of treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring readiness for each patient appointment.
- Take and develop X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and safety standards.
- Manage medical documentation and records accurately within EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Support the dental reception team by coordinating patient flow, verifying insurance information, and updating medical records efficiently.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and post-operative care using clear dental terminology.
- Maintain proficiency in medical coding related to dental procedures and ensure accurate billing processes.
- Uphold infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and knowledge of anatomy to assist with complex procedures confidently.
- Collaborate with the team to implement four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal efficiency during procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license with current state certification.
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy clinical setting; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation software is advantageous.
- Skilled in radiography including X-ray imaging; familiarity with 3D scanners preferred.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with medical imaging procedures accurately.
- Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist; capable of providing exceptional patient service.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and medical coding standards related to dentistry.
