Role Summary:
Response Computer Group is looking to add an IT Technician to its collaborative and experienced team. RCG supports a variety of small and medium-sized business with software and IT solutions across the country. The new team member will be responsible for helping enterprise customers install, upgrade, maintain, operate, and optimize their IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Install and configure hardware and software components to ensure usability by customers
- Implement upgrades and updates to managed systems and software
- Monitor system alerts and logs and take action when appropriate
- Evaluate vulnerability notifications and implement mitigating actions
- Configure, monitor, and test backup and disaster recovery solutions for customers
- Provide support to users when system issues or usability concerns arise
- Travel to and provide on-site IT services to customer locations (typically within a 2-hour distance of Milford, Delaware)
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Ensure operations are executed in compliance with appropriate regulations and safety standards
- Maintain technical documentation
- Ensure that customer expectations are managed and met with high satisfaction
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and Networking, Security, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Eligible to work in the United States – we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas for this job
- Drivers license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation during working hours
Desired Characteristics:
An excellent candidate for this role will have:
- Experience with managed IT service products (i.e. NinjaOne, Kaseya, ConnectWise)
- Applied knowledge and experience with Windows, Linux, and Unix operating system management
- Experience with configuration and management of network devices (i.e. Meraki, Cradlepoint, Cisco networking products)
- Experience with configuration and management of cloud infrastructure services – (i.e. Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services)
- Experience with configuration and management of VoIP phone systems
- Applied knowledge and experience with networking fundamentals, information security principles, and application deployment architecture
- Excellent communication skills – personal, over the phone, and over email
- Excellent organization and time management skills – able to set a timeline and meet it
- Experiences as a self-starter that perseveres through challenges and learns from failures
- Passion for learning and technology
