Duties
- Select and evaluate fresh fruits to ensure optimal ripeness, quality, and freshness in accordance with food safety standards.
- Prepare fruits through slicing, peeling, dicing, and other techniques using proper knife skills and slicing methods.
- Assist in menu planning by recommending fruit options that complement seasonal themes and dietary needs.
- Maintain cleanliness by properly cleaning and sanitizing workstations, tools, and equipment following safety standards in production.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, peelers, and food processors efficiently and safely during food preparation.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless communication for timely fruit preparation and presentation.
- Follow food handling procedures meticulously to uphold food safety management practices during all stages of fruit processing.
Requirements
- Strong background in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of food industry standards.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in knife skills, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, including proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards in production.
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, catering, or food industry operations is a plus.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and team members.
