Position Details
South Texas Surveying Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced and Party Chief for our fast-growing Houston, Texas office. We specialize in commercial land surveying, residential land surveying, platting, elevation certificates, new construction and much more.
Job Summary
Responsible for performing duties as directed by Supervisor to complete projects accurately and within a timely manner.
· Uses all surveying equipment, GPS (if applicable), data collectors to assist in determining elevations, setting and/or laying out stakes
· Downloads and uploads survey data to the proper files in the computer network or field data collector
· Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark in field book
· Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey if applicable
· Responsible for maintaining quality of data in the field; independently perform accurate simple calculations as needed to complete surveys
· Perform all duties as assigned to meet business needs in a safe, ethical and professional manner
Job Requirements
· Minimum of high school diploma/GED diploma required
· 2+ years of successful job-related professional experience in the surveying industry
· Familiar with and able to operate all of the instruments required for the collection or distribution of survey data (data collector, GPS, level, etc.)
· Must have reliable transportation. Must understand how to do ALTA/NSPS, Category 1A, Topographic, Land Title surveys, Construction Staking, etc
· Able to communicate and respond to questions in a professional and timely manner. Must have a do-whatever-it-takes attitude and able to work well under pressure
· Ability to balance the workload to accommodate demands of the job
· Proficient in the independent application and use of job-related software
· Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
