About Gather at No. 18
Gather at No. 18 is a new local food, coffee, cocktail, and grocery destination in Minot, ND. Our first phase will focus on a local eatery, coffee bar, cocktail bar, and small grocery market featuring North Dakota foods, regional products, and locally inspired menu items.We are building a place that locals can enjoy every week and visitors can experience as a true taste of North Dakota. Our menu will feature local burgers (bison, elk, venison, lamb, and more ), coffee, cocktails, and curated grocery items from local and regional producers. We are looking for an Operations Manager who is organized, hospitality-minded, and passionate about local food, guest experience, and helping build something new from the ground up.
Position Overview
The Operations Manager will help lead the daily operations of Gather, including the restaurant, coffee bar, cocktail bar, and local grocery. This person will work closely with ownership to manage staff, service standards, inventory, scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and the overall guest experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys food, coffee, cocktails, local products, and creating a welcoming environment for both locals and tourists.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations for the restaurant, coffee bar, cocktail bar, and local market
- Help lead, train, schedule, and support front-of-house staff
- Make sure guests receive friendly, consistent, and high-quality service
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked service and retail areas
- Help manage inventory for food, beverages, coffee, alcohol, and grocery market items
- Work with local and regional vendors to support product ordering and availability
- Support opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily checklists
- Help create systems for staff communication, service flow, and daily operations
- Monitor guest feedback and help solve issues professionally
- Ensure team members follow food safety, alcohol service, and company standards
- Assist with promotions, seasonal features, local product displays, and guest education
- Work with ownership to improve operations, sales, and the overall customer experience
Ideal Candidate
- Has restaurant, café, bar, retail, hospitality, or food service leadership experience
- Is passionate about local food, local products, and creating a strong guest experience
- Is comfortable leading a team while also jumping in where needed
- Is organized, dependable, and calm during busy service times
- Enjoys working with people and building relationships with guests and vendors
- Understands the importance of cleanliness, consistency, and hospitality
- Is excited to help build a new local concept in Minot
Requirements
- Previous management, shift lead, restaurant, bar, café, retail, or hospitality experience preferred
- Must be available for a mix of mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Must be comfortable working around food, coffee, and alcohol service
- Must be dependable, professional, and team-focused
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift during shifts
- Alcohol server training and food safety training may be required
