Repair Technician – 1st Shift
Pay: $24.00–$28.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:30 AM–3:30 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Repair Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate electronic assemblies and finished instruments. This position requires strong electronic and electromechanical troubleshooting skills, excellent soldering ability, and experience working with complex electronic products.
The technician will diagnose failures, determine root causes, complete repairs, and verify that products meet manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, test, calibrate, and install electronic assemblies and finished products.
- Troubleshoot electronic circuits and electromechanical systems down to the component level.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
- Perform basic electrical circuit analysis involving analog, power, high-voltage, and digital circuits.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and product documentation.
- Read and understand component datasheets and assembly documentation.
- Determine root causes of product failures and complete necessary repairs.
- Set up and operate electronic measurement and test equipment, including DMMs, oscilloscopes, insulation testers, and power supplies.
- Perform adjustments, upgrades, and modifications as required.
- Use soldering equipment and hand tools to repair circuit boards and wiring harnesses.
- Use tools including soldering irons, screwdrivers, contact crimpers, heat guns, and related equipment.
- Follow established procedures, work instructions, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Maintain accurate progress and communicate problems or delays to appropriate personnel.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures.
- Work safely with high-voltage electrical systems.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or applicable technical degree — REQUIRED.
- At least 1 year of experience repairing or servicing complex electronic products.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical systems to the component level.
- Strong soldering skills and knowledge of soldering techniques.
- Experience reading product schematics, assembly documentation, and component datasheets.
- Understanding of electronic product testing and calibration methods.
- Experience safely working with high voltages.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple repair jobs and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to use hand tools and electronic test equipment for extended periods.
- Must be comfortable working around electronic equipment and high-voltage systems while following all required safety procedures.
