Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Assist with food prep tasks such as slicing, dicing, portioning, and plating to ensure timely service
- Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a focus on quality and efficiency
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food safety management practices
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal presentation guidelines
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Familiarity with catering processes and large-scale meal preparation is advantageous
Schedule Details
We're primarily looking to fill the 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift, with some flexibility for an 8:00 AM–4:00 PM shift. Some weekend availability is required.
