MG Machining, renowned leaders in precision engineering, is seeking a highly skilled Tooling Engineer to join our dynamic team. MG Machining continues to lead in innovation, serving diverse markets with unmatched expertise.
As a Tooling Engineer you will designs, develops, and maintains manufacturing tools, dies, and fixtures to ensure production efficiency and quality. Key responsibilities include working with CAD software to create designs, collaborating with production teams, overseeing tool fabrication, and troubleshooting issues to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
Key responsibilities
- Design and development: Design new tools and fixtures for manufacturing processes using CAD software.
- Project management: Lead projects from conceptualization to implementation, managing teams and timelines to meet product specifications.
- Manufacturing oversight: Oversee the fabrication and installation of tools, ensuring they meet design and quality standards.
- Troubleshooting and optimization: Identify and solve problems with existing tooling to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Maintenance and repair: Implement a data-driven approach to tooling maintenance, track tool life, and schedule repairs or replacement parts proactively.
- Supplier management: Interface with vendors for tooling repairs and obtain competitive quotes.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with other engineers, designers, and production personnel to ensure tooling meets all requirements.
Required skills and qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Software proficiency: Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Technical knowledge: Understanding of machining, tooling design principles, and manufacturing processes.
- Analytical skills: Strong ability to analyze data, solve problems, and pay close attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with different teams.
- Blueprint reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering schematics.
