Our Foremen are the leaders of our operations teams: they oversee multiple job and crews. With few exceptions, our Foremen are promoted from within. A successful Foreman will have both advanced technical knowledge of the tile and stone industry and strong interpersonal and people-management skills. Their responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the promotion of a positive image of the company by exercising sound and ethical business practices as related to its employees, customers, vendors and the general public. This includes ensuring that quality is of the highest possible level
- Ensuring that personnel that are assigned to projects make the best use of skills and stay within the estimated budget
- Contributing to production, actively participating in tile installation when possible. Makes the best use of time during working hours. Consistently showing the ability to recognize and deal with priorities
- Reporting the necessary project status information to the General Field Superintendent weekly, including taking stock of materials on hand and ordering material for look ahead work
- Ensuring that each project has all of the required tools and equipment necessary to complete the project on schedule and within budget
- Interacting with the customer representative (usually General Contractor Superintendent) weekly, in order to determine project satisfaction and ensure that the projects are on time
- Cooperating with the administrative staff to complete and return necessary paperwork on time
- Demonstrating good judgment and tact in solving problems and difficult situations
