Educational Enrichment Systems, (EES), a visionary agency which provides quality early childhood education services throughout the county of San Diego, has an opening for a qualified, experienced, energetic, enthusiastic Educational Coordinator.
The candidate must have the ability to multi-task, be self-motivated, and excellent in communication (verbal and written), confidence in public speaking, be highly organized and be willing to be part of a TEAM.
Importantly, the candidate must also articulate and understand the fundamentals of early childhood education, developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate practice.
Basic Function
Under the direction of a Director of Education and Training. Assists Program Directors and Vice President and COO to ensure agency is accountable to program standards and reviews that measure the quality of a preschool program for staff, children and families.
Responsibilities
I. Ensures completion of Program Functions.
Standards:
· Maintains knowledge of all licensing guidelines and requirements and ensures all Centers meet these requirements.
· Assist to ensure educational program meets the developmental needs of all children enrolled in the program.
· Assist Directors and Program Directors with ASQ and IEP processes
· Ongoing monitoring of program standards to assure program meets standards and areas requiring modification are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
· Monitors family engagement plan of North County sites.
· Assist to ensure all aspects of Desired Results for children and families is implemented, monitored and supported per EES and California Department of Education (CDE) regulations.
· Desired Results Developmental Profile ( DRDP2015)
· Review DRDP2015’s at sites to ensure comprehension of systems and completion is met.
· Coach EES staff in creating action steps in summary of findings and ensure follow up is completed.
· Assist Program Directors in review of child’s developmental progress forms.
· Review Plan for Learning at sites to ensure the needs of children are met and EES curriculum process and philosophy is implemented.
· Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS)
· Complete ECERS at sites as necessary, per Program Directors.
· Coach EES staff in creating ECERS summary of findings and ensure follow up is
completed.
· Parent Survey
· Assist Program Directors in completion of parent surveys at all sites.
· Coach EES staff in creating parent survey summary of findings and ensure follow
is completed.
· Assist to ensure each site has a family engagement plan.
· Work with Program Directors, CDD/CCFP Eligibility Director, and Wellness Coordinator in
completion of Child Care Food Program (CCFP) monitoring visits to meet state and
federal regulations.
· Health and Safety Assessments
· Assist to ensure assessments are completed as needed per Program Director.
· Coach EES staff in creating action steps in assessment summary of findings and ensure follow up is completed
· Assist in completion of Facility Compliance Site Visits
II. Ensures the completion of administrative tasks and functions.
Standards:
· Ensures all deadlines are met and procedures are followed.
· Ensures office tasks are completed according to established guidelines on a timely basis.
· Ensures completion of scheduled routine tasks and reports including:
· - Summary of all assessments and reviews completed, support and coaching provided to staff. Report will identify success and areas of improvement of all reviews and coaching sessions.
· Work directly with Vice President and COO in the planning,
implementation and compilation of EES’ agency annual review and report
for California Department of Education
· Work directly with Vice President and COO in the planning of EES’ annual
Professional Growth Day.
· Provide input to Program Directors for annual appraisals for all north county
staff.
· Assist EES staff in creating their professional development plan.
III. Conducts all work and interactions with Admin Staff and Committees in a professional manner in accordance with EES policies and procedures.
IV. Assist to ensure adequate maintenance and appearance of facilities and equipment is maintained at all times by reporting needs to relevant administrative staff.
Standards:
· In coordination with building needs ensures appropriate planned and preventive maintenance programs are designed, budgeted and conducted. This should include but not limited to all yearly maintenance items such as equipment certifications, and replacement, general painting and upkeep of facilities, and carpet cleaning. Regular walk through of the facility with center staff should be conducted to ensure maintenance is being performed in a timely manner.
V. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with EES staff, Community Representatives and other regular contacts.
Standards:
· Attends regular meetings with the EES staff, departments, or community organizations affected by operations to communicate schedules; event plans and discusses potential problems or concerns.
VI. Assist to ensure all operations are conducted with Safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IPP) and other safety policies.
Standards:
· Assist to ensure that regular inspections of facility and equipment are made to ensure all areas are clean, in good repair and in compliance with all safety codes.
· Assist to ensure all employees are provided safety training and attend safety meetings regularly.
· Reviews IIPP annually and ensures all corporate and department safety plans are up to date and followed.
VII. Assist to ensure each family encounter is courteous, respectful and efficient.
Standards:
· Assist to ensure families service policies are met by all staff.
· Assist to ensure EES policies are established and met by all staff.
VIII. Performs as a member of a high-quality team and promotes teamwork in all interactions within the organization in accordance with EES policy and procedures.
IX. Ensures adherence to internal controls.
Standards:
· Ensures all transactions are conducted according to EES policies & procedures.
· Ensures maintenance of accurate records for all transactions.
X. Ensures adherence to the Mission and Goals of EES.
Standards:
· Know the mission and goals of EES and commit to achieving them.
· Seek prior approval from President and CEO through proper channels, before endorsing memorandum of understanding in regards to collaboration with other community funded agencies.
· Review and follow EES employee handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:
o Bachelor’s degree in related field.
o Program Director Child Development Permit,
o Follow guidelines for California Permit Matrix.
Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years teaching, training and supervisory experience required
· Administrative experience in children's center programs preferred.
· Experience with maintaining records in a computerized environment
· preferred.
· Demonstrated knowledge of Title 5 and Title 22 regulations preferred.
· Experience with Desired Results and ECERS.
Special Characteristics:
Must meet State health requirements for licensed childcare centers. Must be flexible and able to maintain a positive and supportive working relationship with staff, parents, volunteers and children in a cooperative venture while complying with applicable state and federal regulations. Must have sensitivity to children's unique needs, lots of energy and personal commitment to the job (including ability to work long hours as necessary). Ability to work with diverse, frequently changing, population of children, families, staff and administration.
Certification/Licenses:
o Child Development Program Director Permit
o 16 hours of Health and Safety Training, Basic CPR & First Aid. Complete and pass physical and negative TB test.
o Annual proof of influenza vaccine, (or a statement declining)
o Proof of pertussis and measles immunizations
o Fingerprint and Criminal Record clearance required. FBI and child abuse index.
o Complete and pass CDSS Mandated Reporter Certification every two years
o Valid Driver’s License and maintain proof of current insurance if driving on behalf of EES.
o Meet staffing qualifications and operational regulations adopted by both California Community Care Licensing and California Department of Education
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Child development center classroom environment, position may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, bending, sitting on the floor, standing for long periods of time and lifting children and materials as necessary.
The daily environment will require extensive standing, bending at the waist, squatting, up and down movement with your legs, crawling, kneeling, twisting, walking, lifting, reaching above and below shoulders, climbing and jumping. There will be physical activities performed with the children that include jumping jacks, running, etc.
There will be times you may be performing work under stressful conditions.
