American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVICU position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac support devices including IABP, Impella, and ECMO.

CVICU (7S) unit in a large hospital setting in San Antonio, TX
-
Night shift: 7P–7:30A
-
Rotating weekends required
-
No on-call requirements
-
13-week contract
-
Cardiac patient population including post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-cath cases with various cardiac support devices
-
Procedures include management of IABP, Impella, ECMO, and Nxstage/CRRT
-
Hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines
-
Ventilator management required
-
EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
-
Floating required per facility floating policy
-
Active TX RN license or compact license required — no temporary licenses accepted

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines) required

Ventilator management experience required

Strong critical thinking skills required

IABP experience preferred
-
CRRT experience preferred
-
US SSN and DOB required for consideration

One professional reference required
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Scrub color: navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
-
Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited; body art should be covered whenever possible
-
Hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; facial hair must be neatly trimmed
-
Punctuality is strictly enforced — clock-in time is 6:38 AM/PM; arriving after 6:45 AM/PM is considered tardy

Badging in and out for each shift is required, along with a full 30-minute lunch break
