WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Microcom is looking for Starlink installation technicians responsible for setting up and maintaining Starlink satellite internet equipment for customers. This includes mounting the antenna, running cables, configuring the router, and ensuring optimal signal reception. Installers may also troubleshoot connection issues and provide basic customer support. The job requires working outdoors and may involve travel to different locations within Hawaii. Basic technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and good customer service are important for success in this role.
What would I do?
- Plan installations by evaluating location; locating line of sight; laying out equipment and wiring plans connectivity options.
- Installs antenna; running and pulling cable; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.
- Verifies system by testing equipment and connections; identifying and correcting problems.
- Ensures system signal meets minimum requirements.
- Communicates with dispatch department to update job status within assigned timeframes.
- Completes paperwork to document installation, service and repairs.
- Repairs service by listening to customer’s description of the problems; diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing problems by replacing and/or upgrading components.
- Communicate with customers and ensure that the customer thoroughly understands how to work the system.
What’s required?
- Current valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willing to submit to background and pre-hire drug screenings
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- The job is entry level, but you must be willing to learn and have the drive to excel. We do on-the-job training!
- Good work ethic without direct supervision
What else are we looking for?
- Electrical, maintenance, or cable repair experience
- Some customer service or sales experience is a plus
- Works well in a team setting and can communicate with others
- A drive to excel and complete work to customer’s satisfaction
- Willingness to travel at times

Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Climb ladders up to 30’ - 40’ at times
- Work in attics and other limited-space areas
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for long periods
