Client Bio:
Hi! I’m looking for a caring, dependable Spanish Speaking Caregiver who can keep up with my energy while providing patient, consistent support throughout the day. It’s important that my caregiver speaks Spanish or is at least somewhat bilingual so we can communicate well. I do best with someone who is positive, calm, and able to redirect me with encouragement when I become frustrated.
Sometimes I have a hard time regulating my emotions, especially when transitioning away from activities I enjoy. When I’m upset, I may yell, cry, kick, push, protest, or use inappropriate language. I respond best when my caregiver stays calm, gives me time to process my feelings, uses timers or advance warnings for transitions, and redirects me to another activity.
I also need close supervision to help keep me safe. I can act impulsively without thinking through the consequences, so my caregiver will need to keep eyes on me throughout the entire shift. In the past, I've wandered away from home, climbed out of a second-story window, tried to access unsafe items like a lighter, and I need extra supervision around our pool and in the community. If I do leave an area, my caregiver should notify my parent and follow me from a safe distance while continuing to encourage me to return.
At times, I may grind my teeth when I'm frustrated, so gentle reminders and redirection are helpful. I also need support respecting personal space, monitoring my overall health since I don't always recognize or communicate when I'm sick or in pain, and keeping an eye on episodes of regurgitation that can happen throughout the day.
I'm a very smart, curious kid with lots of energy! I love staying busy, exploring, and learning new things. As I'm getting older, I'm becoming more curious about the world around me, so I benefit from a caregiver who can provide appropriate guidance, positive role modeling, and consistent boundaries while making learning fun.
If you're energetic, patient, positive, and able to provide steady supervision while helping me learn and grow, we'll make a great team!
