Overview
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Baker/Cake Decorator to join our vibrant culinary team that has a minimum of 3 years experience in a retail bakery. Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, including pastries, bread, and cakes, following established recipes and quality standards
- Decorate cakes with intricate designs, frosting, fondant, molding chocolate and other decorative elements to meet customer specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and pastry tools safely and efficiently
- Package baked items carefully for presentation and transport, ensuring freshness and quality are maintained
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by following proper sanitation procedures and food safety guidelines
- Assist with food preparation tasks related to cake assembly, pastry production, and other baked goods
- Support high-volume production demands while ensuring consistency in product quality and presentation
Skills
- Extensive experience in cake decorating and pastry preparation
- Knowledge of food handling, safety management, and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining creativity in decorating techniques
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, piping tools, and refrigeration units
- Basic math skills for measurements, portioning, and inventory management
- Excellent customer service skills to understand specific decorating requests or dietary needs
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high-volume production experience
- Strong attention to detail for maintaining a clean workspace and ensuring product consistency
- Experience in food industry standards related to catering or large-scale food production is a plus
