We're looking for a hands-on 2nd Shift CNC Team Leader to oversee daily production within our CNC Machining and Oil Control Valve Assembly operations. In this role, you'll lead by example—supporting your team, troubleshooting equipment, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring production goals are achieved safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do
As the 2nd Shift CNC Team Leader, you'll oversee daily production while supporting your team and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency remain top priorities.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and support production associates during your assigned shift
- Perform CNC machine setups, tool changes, offset adjustments, and troubleshooting
- Monitor production schedules and ensure daily production goals are achieved
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
- Interpret blueprints and manufacturing specifications
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues to minimize downtime
- Coordinate with Quality and Production teams to resolve manufacturing concerns
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment checks
- Monitor machine fluids, lubricants, and operating conditions
- Repair Oil Control Valves (OCVs) that do not meet inspection standards
- Train, coach, and mentor production team members
- Complete coaching documentation and support employee development
- Record production data and process control information
- Promote Lean Manufacturing principles including:
- 5S
- Kaizen
- Just-in-Time (JIT)
- FIFO
- Fill in on production processes as needed to support staffing requirements
Qualifications Required
- 4+ CNC machining experience
- Experience performing CNC setups, tool changes, and offset adjustments
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Leadership experience or experience training and mentoring employees
- Strong math and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable using computers for production documentation
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent attendance and reliability
Preferred
- Previous Team Lead, Lead Machinist, or Manufacturing Leadership experience
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Toyota Production System (TPS)
- Experience with preventive maintenance
- Experience with pneumatic and power tools
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout an 8-hour shift
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Work in an active manufacturing environment
- Flexibility to work overtime based on production demands
