Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety standards
- Follow safety protocols in food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and kitchen efficiencies
- Collaborate with dietary department staff to accommodate special dietary needs and meal requests
- Ensure timely delivery of orders by coordinating with serving staff and managing multiple cooking stations effectively
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Experience working in dietary or dietary aide roles is a plus, especially related to meal preparation for specific dietary needs
- Strong knife skills, including slicing techniques, are essential for efficiency and safety in food handling
- Knowledge of catering, meal preparation, and food industry best practices will help you excel in this role
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
