This leadership opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse with hands-on experience managing ventilator-dependent residents and supervising clinical staff in a medically complex long-term care environment.
The Director of Nursing is seeking a Nurse Manager with proven Vent Unit leadership experience who is comfortable overseeing daily clinical operations while ensuring the highest standards of resident care, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
$53 Per Hour

Manage the daily operations of a specialized Ventilator Unit.
Supervise, mentor, and support RNs, LPNs, and CNAs providing care to ventilator-dependent residents.
Ensure high-quality, person-centered care for medically complex long-term care residents.
Coordinate care plans with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Monitor resident assessments, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee infection prevention practices and ensure adherence to CDC isolation precautions.
Assist with staff education, competency validation, and performance management.
Promote a collaborative work environment focused on resident safety and clinical excellence.
Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations.
Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care.
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Previous experience managing a Ventilator (Vent) Unit is required.
Must be comfortable leading a unit caring for ventilator-dependent residents.
Strong experience with airway suctioning and tracheostomy care.
Thorough understanding of CDC infection prevention and isolation precautions.
Experience with advanced wound care and management of chronic skin conditions, including infectious wounds.
Ability to supervise and support nursing staff providing care to medically complex long-term care residents.
Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing Facility experience required.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
