Job Overview
We are seeking a houseplant enthusiast with online sales and customer support experience to join our growing team!
The role will include taking inventory photos, answering customer messages, supporting the preparation tasks for sale drops, and social media. The role will be fluid day over day, and applicants will need to be flexible and willing to learn the processes and tasks that are needed any given week or day.
The ideal candidate has any combination of social media experience, online marketplace management, and either horticulture training or familiar with the online houseplant community. Training and upward mobility opportunities will be provided for candidates who show a willingness and desire to learn and grow with the company.
Responsibilities
- Inventory, photograph, and upload inventory drops to our online marketplaces.
- Respond to customer questions and direct messages.
- Help with live stream sales (Palmstreet).
- Price customer offerings based on current market trends (Training Provided).
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and order fulfillment areas.
Required
- Experience using spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) to prepare and upload inventory to online marketplaces.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to perform repetitive tasks to a high degree of accuracy every time.
- Experience directly engaging with customers to respond to inquiries and engage on social media.
Preferred Experience
- An associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- 1-2+ years of nursery center or collector plant sales experience.
- Social media experience.
- Online marketplace and live sales experience.
- Existing passion for houseplants and plant care.
- Desire to assist with process design and quality assurance standards/documentation as the company grows.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift such as shelf/rack rearrangement and movement of supply boxes, crouching to water lower shelves of plants, retrieving boxes at ground level for supply boxes, etc...
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:00 PM
- Occasional evening or weekend support may be requested to support inventory drops and live stream sales events.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
