Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in line with early childhood education standards.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and learning activities to ensure safety and well-being at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children’s progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones to foster strong partnerships.
- Support classroom management by implementing behavior management strategies that promote positive interactions and respect among children.
- Assist with daily routines such as diapering, feeding, and hygiene practices for infants and toddlers as needed.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and health regulations by documenting incidents and maintaining accurate records.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare centers, preschools, nannying, babysitting, or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a valuable asset.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required; ongoing training in child safety is encouraged.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and child supervision best practices.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect is essential for ensuring compliance and child protection.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork within the childcare setting.
