Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dynamic curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and overall childhood development aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Facilitate age-appropriate lessons that incorporate child development instruction, standardized testing preparation, and hands-on activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents to share progress updates, discuss developmental milestones, and address individual needs or concerns.
- Manage classroom routines effectively, ensuring safety protocols are followed in accordance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare guidelines.
- Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, lesson plans, and assessments such as standardized testing results.
- Ensure all health and safety standards are met by maintaining first aid and CPR certifications and implementing proper childcare procedures.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent communication and collaboration with colleagues.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and preschool teaching best practices.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is required.
- Previous experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred or must be obtained upon hire.
