Join our 90 year old farm selling ecologically grown veggies & melons at our stand at Boulder Farmers Market working EVERY SINGLE SATURDAY from July through November! THIS IS NOT A SPORADIC POSITION. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO WORK LITERALLY EVERY SATURDAY!!!! We need reliable help every single Saturday. This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with community members, promote local produce, and ensure a lively, welcoming market environment. You will be the friendly face of the market, helping shoppers while maintaining smooth operations with lots of restocking. If you enjoy working outdoors, connecting with people, and supporting local agriculture, this position is perfect for you! All positions are paid, offering valuable experience in retail and customer service within a dynamic community setting. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds. Please do not apply if you are not available on literally every Saturday July-November.
Responsibilities
- Greet vendors and shoppers with enthusiasm, providing excellent customer service and assistance throughout the market hours
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for sales transactions (it's super easy), including cash handling and credit card processing
- Restock our booth and ensure products are attractively presented and properly labeled. If you love local and real food, this is a great gig.
Requirements:
MUST BE ON TIME AND ABLE TO COMMIT, YOU CANNOT FLAKE ON US FRIDAY NIGHTS!
- Previous experience with cashiering or retail sales is preferred but not essential
- Strong communication skills and friendly etiquette are a must for engaging with customers
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Experience in retail environments is beneficial
- Ability to stand for extended periods outdoors in varying weather conditions during market hours. It's rain or shine!
