American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level IV Neonatal ICU position at an academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and NRP certification.

Level IV NICU in a large academic medical center and teaching hospital with a Level I Trauma designation
-
Cares for infants ranging from 23 weeks gestational age through term, with varying acuity levels including surgical patients (NEC, CDH, and similar diagnoses)
-
Average daily census of 71 patients
-
12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a (1830–0700), 36 hours per week
-
Every other weekend rotation (at minimum)

No on-call requirements
-
Floating may be required to General Pediatrics, PICU, Adolescent Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hem/Onc

EMR: Epic
-
Active NC RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS and NRP certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Level III or higher NICU experience required
-
Proficiency in basic ventilator management, central line management, and pre/post-surgical management
-
Experience with tracheostomy care, G-tube management, and gavage feeding
-
Competency in blood transfusion administration and infant venous access
-
Basic breastfeeding and bottle feeding skills
-
1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Fast-paced NICU environment; manager will be conducting interviews
-
Unit support includes NAs at a 1:20 ratio and 2 Charge RNs per shift
-
Orientation includes NEO training plus 2 days of departmental orientation
-
Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
-
RTO requests require Resource Team approval; scheduling follows a 6-week cycle

Royal blue scrubs required
