Job Description:
We’re launching a bold, new fast-casual restaurant concept in Houston, and we’re looking for a Chef Consultant who knows how to bring the flavor without compromising the health. Our mission is simple but powerful: make healthy food more convenient, fast, and flavorful.
If you’re a culinary creative with experience in Southern comfort food, traditional African-American cuisine, and a modern, health-conscious twist, we want to hear from you.
This is a contract position with flexible hours, but it’s hands-on. You’ll be working closely with the founder to bring a vibrant, soulful concept to life that’s equal parts nourishing and delicious.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop a full fast-casual menu from concept to plate
- Create bold, flavorful recipes that are healthy and craveable
- Conduct recipe testing and standardize for volume food production
- Assist with cost control and ingredient sourcing
- Deliver detailed recipe specs and prep instructions for kitchen execution
- Bring creativity and fresh ideas to the table (literally!)
What We’re Looking For:
- Culinary experience with Southern comfort and African-American cuisine
- Proven work in healthy recipe development or fast-casual restaurant settings
- Experience in menu planning, scaling recipes, and food costing
- Strong communication skills, organized, and deadline-driven
- An out-of-the-box thinker who can combine Southern food and flavorful nutrition
- Nutrition knowledge is a bonus, but not required

We’re looking to get started within the next 4 weeks.
Additional Info:
This is a freelance role with flexible hours, but must be based in Houston for in-person collaboration and kitchen testing. You’ll be working side-by-side with the founder to create something fresh, fast, and full of flavor.

Compensation:
