Experienced Automotive Technician
Yorba Linda Auto Service
Placentia, CA
Pay: $40.00 to $46.00+ per hour (NOT Flat Rate), based on experience, credentials, and productivity
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - No Weekends
Yorba Linda Auto Service has served the community for more than 26 years. The shop was built around Kaizen, the belief that there is always an opportunity to improve. That mindset shows up in the weekly training, updated equipment, digital workflow, and the way the team handles difficult vehicles and mistakes.
This is a shop where experienced technicians are trusted to do their work. If a vehicle has you stuck, the expectation is not to keep struggling alone. Step away, clear your head, work on something else, collaborate with another technician, or use the shop’s technical resources. The goal is to solve the problem correctly without burning people out in the process.

A Small Team Where Your Work Matters
Yorba Linda Auto Service currently has two technicians and is looking for an experienced third technician who can contribute at a high level.
You will not disappear into a large production shop where you are treated like another number. Your ideas will be heard, your work will be recognized, and your experience will make a real difference in the shop’s continued growth.
Leadership takes a hands-off approach because experienced technicians should be trusted to do their jobs. Expectations are clear, but you will have room to organize your work and complete repairs the right way.
Travis, who is preparing to take the business into its next generation of ownership, believes in leading by example. He may not be the person performing advanced testing, but he will pull vehicles in, rack a car, remove tires, or help wherever he can. No one is too important to lend a hand.
The culture is relaxed and lighthearted, but accountability still matters. When someone makes a mistake, the conversation is about taking responsibility, correcting it, and making sure it does not happen again. The shop believes in doing what is right for the customer.
Pay That Provides Stability and Rewards Production
This is an hourly position with additional earnings based on productivity.
For a qualified technician with a $40.00 base rate:
- Base rate: $40.00 per clocked hour
- 80% productivity: $42.00 per clocked hour
- 90% productivity: $44.00 per clocked hour
- 100% productivity: $46.00 per clocked hour
- Above 100% productivity: Pay is calculated using $46.00 multiplied by billed hours
For example, 45 billed hours at $46.00 equals $2,070.00 for the week.
Productivity is calculated by dividing billed hours by clocked hours. Production and pay are reviewed weekly, so you will know how your earnings were calculated.

Training and Growth
Training is not something that only happens when the shop slows down.
Every Monday from 8:00 to 9:00 AM, the technicians complete ScannerDanner training during the regular workday. The shop also provides access to vendor classes, ATG training, and additional online learning opportunities.
Dan and Travis have both been actively involved with ASCCA at the local and state levels. They believe technicians should have access to the knowledge, resources, and certifications needed to keep up with changing vehicle technology.
What You Should Know
The shop is not air-conditioned, but fans are provided throughout the facility.
The normal schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Overtime is not part of the regular schedule, although a technician may occasionally be asked to stay and finish a job that is close to completion.
This position is for an experienced technician.
If you want to work with people who respect your experience, support your continued growth, and want you to have a life outside the shop, we would love to meet you.
