Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and energetic Classroom Aide to join our team for the Fall Semester (August-December) and potentially beyond. This is a temporary leave replacement position.
In this vital support role, you will assist the classroom teacher in creating a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment in the grades 3 & 4 class. The Classroom Aide supports students in the classroom with literacy, math skills, and social-emotional growth and supervises students at recess and lunch. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, contribute to curriculum implementation, and support classroom management efforts in a dynamic educational setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher in conducting lessons and other classroom activities
- Supervise students during recess on the playground and at lunch break
- Administer and grade assessments and other student work
- Help prepare the classroom for instruction and maintain organization
- Assist teacher with Physical Education
- Prepare instructional materials and other educational aides
- Operate technology and digital tools such as smart board, copier, student chromebooks, electronic grade book, Google Classroom

- Speak clearly and effectively
- Work sympathetically and understandingly with students who are having academic or emotional difficulty
- Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action

- Use correct English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Perform clerical work accurately, including typing of instructional materials and entering student data in the Student Information System
- Learn to work with various online educational platforms and tools
