Prepare gun barrels for plating by cleaning, degreasing, and removing any existing coatings or impurities using abrasive materials, solvents, and cleaning agents.

Apply specialized coatings and finishes to gun barrels using electroplating or other plating methods, ensuring the correct plating solution and process parameters are used.

Conduct thorough inspections of plated gun barrels to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, including tests for adhesion, corrosion resistance, and hardness.

Maintain and troubleshoot plating equipment and tools, performing regular calibrations and coordinating with maintenance personnel for repairs when necessary.

Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines while working with hazardous chemicals, plating equipment, and firearms, following all local, state, and federal regulations.

Maintain accurate records of plating processes, including process parameters, inspection results, and any deviations from specifications, and generate reports for process improvement.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in plating, surface finishing, or a related field are preferred.

Proven experience in electroplating or other plating techniques, preferably in a firearms manufacturing or related industry.

In-depth knowledge of plating materials, chemicals, and processes, including surface preparation, coating selection, and quality control.

Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling delicate gun barrels and applying coatings precisely.

Familiarity with operating and maintaining plating equipment, such as rectifiers, tanks, filters, and chemical pumps.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
