An upscale, chef-driven restaurant in Santa Barbara is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our leadership team. We are a contemporary American restaurant committed to thoughtful cuisine, exceptional hospitality, and a disciplined, collaborative kitchen culture.

Responsibilities
- Lead dinner service alongside the Chef de Cuisine, including managing the expo station and maintaining service standards.
- Oversee daily prep production and ensure readiness for service.
- Manage daily ordering and inventory needs.
- Train, mentor, and develop line cooks and prep cooks.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and efficiency throughout the kitchen.
- Uphold recipe standards, plating consistency, and systems execution.
- Foster a calm, disciplined, and professional work environment.
- Assist with scheduling, communication, and operational initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5–7 years of professional restaurant experience.
- Prior kitchen management or supervisory experience required.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Commitment to consistency, accountability, and high standards.
- Passion for hospitality and professional growth.
- Ability to speak English and Spanish is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $71,000 annually, plus tips.
- Typical schedule of approximately 50–55 hours per week.
- Two weeks paid vacation.
