We are currently seeking a candidate to join our team as an Estimator. This is a full-time position that requires precision, accuracy, and effective communication. Excelling in this role offers the opportunity for advancement in the future.
Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for calculating quantity takeoffs using estimating software and creating a detailed proposal from that data. This position will be responsible for all aspects of estimating projects, residential and commercial, new construction and additions/renovations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure plan takeoffs are performed accurately to calculate material quantities for exterior millwork components.
- Ensure that highlighted takeoff sheets are formatted and printed for each new quote to be provided in proposal package for client.
- Ensure quantity takes offs are 100% accurate and in accordance with the requested scope, and investigate deviations from blueprint and quantity takeoff review.
- Understand the full scope of the project through thorough construction document review and asking questions of the Owner and design team.
- Review documents for construct-ability.
- Follow up on outstanding proposals via phone and email throughout the lifecycle from start to awarded/closed-lost.
Qualifications:
- Must be punctual and focused with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- 3-5 Years of construction estimating experience.
- Strong communication skills-both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and technical skills.
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications.
- Understanding of construction building practices with an emphasis on millwork/finishes.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu software is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in NetSuite is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a must.
- Residential construction knowledge is necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
