What is Thumb Indexing? (Job Overview)
Thumb indexing is a premium book finishing process that cuts or marks rounded notches (tabs) into the edges of a book—most commonly Bibles, dictionaries, and medical textbooks. These tabs allow readers to quickly flip to a specific book, chapter, or section.
